Week 10
Wow, what a week! This thing called "screencasting" is really something. I have seen many of them but had no idea how they worked. It was very frustrating, but I got through it. I am usually real good at figuring out software but these types of programs really got the best of me. I am glad for the knowledge because I will now be able to make tutorials to help my husband. He does hunter safety courses and has a hard time managing things on his email, so now I can make him a couple of screencasts that he can refer to to help him through it.
My screencast is located HERE in my ePortfolio.

I just posted a comment and it disappeared, let's try again. I find your quiet and clear enunciation a pleasure to listen to, unlike some of the over-caffeinated YouTube instructors I've come across. Nice job breaking this task down into understandable steps.
ReplyDeleteFlower Pen Vendor Extraordinaire!I love it!! Do you do a lot of craft fairs? Do you find that it is profitable for the time that it takes making the product and traveling and setting up? I'm very curious because I have thought about doing a few but I'm a little chicken and need some motivation :-)
ReplyDeleteActually Lynn, this was my first time out. I started making the pens, as I said in last weeks vlog, because I got tired of people taking them off my desk at work...and it worked really well. I enjoyed making them so much, I ordered a bulk of floral tape, got hooked on looking for flowers to use, and started buying pens. The more I did it, the better I got at it. Before I knew it, I had bunches of them. We have a craft fair at work every year so I signed up to see what would happen. It wasn't all that busy, but I did make enough to cover the costs of my materials. I am now signed up for a bigger one in a couple of weeks. It's not something I planned...it just kind of happened. I guess it depends on what items you have and how popular they are. I really had no idea going in what would happen...but I'm glad I did it just to say I tried. I am looking forward to a "blossoming" business...lol.
